Nu Prime Brothers,
The current active members wanted to update our alumni on the current state of our Chapter, a summary of this past school year, as well as information about upcoming events. This past fall, the chapter hosted an alumni open house and tailgate for the Pittsburgh game. We want to thank all of the alumni who came out and showed us that this brotherhood is truly not for a semester or term, but for life. The donations that we received from the event were used for annual house maintenance projects, as well as building a DJ booth (pictured below).
Speaking to more current events, our chapter just finished our spring rush where we welcomed 11 pledges. The chapter has started philanthropy work for this semester with our annual super bowl squares event. We are currently organizing more philanthropy events for later this semester including a food drive with Sons of Saturday and a volleyball tournament at the house for the Military Heroes Campaign.
We would like to inform you of Kappa Sigma’s annual Steven Alonzo Jackson weekend of giving that starts this Friday. For those of you who may not know, the weekend of March 4th - March 6th is a weekend of giving for the Kappa Sigma endowment fund. What makes this weekend special is that 100% of donations go directly towards our Nu Prime chapter’s endowment fund. From this fund, brothers in our chapter can apply for academic scholarships helping to cover Virginia Tech’s ever increasing tuition. The link to this fund is provided below, but please make sure to wait until Friday, March 4th at 12:00 AM to make your donations. Any charitable act is greatly appreciated by the chapter and will go a long way. Once again, we’d like to thank you for your continued support, support that ensures that our brotherhood will be here for years to come.
We initiated 15 new brothers this past fall into the chapter. Their names and years are included below.
